CORVETTE EV OFFICIALLY IN THE WORKS
|
For the longest time, the Chevy Corvette was a staple of how good a front-engine, rear-wheel drive, V8-powered sports car could be. However, with the newest C8 generation of Corvette, Chevy has redesigned the Corvette from the ground up. The C8 is the first Corvette not to be front-engined, and it will be the first to get enhanced with electric motors. Chevy has realized that fully electric and hybrid powertrains are the best way to increase power while ensuring your sports cars keep to stringent emissions laws. The C8 will be released with a hybrid powertrain sometime next year, which we expect to make tons of power and to have an all-wheel drive system. Chevy has also announced that the Corvette will be available as a pure electric vehicle, and this version will be available around late 2024 as a 2025 model. The fully electric C8 will probably produce over 1,000 hp, and it will most likely have either three or four drive motors.
